CitySprouts will host a food demo at the Farmers’ Market Thursday August 8th.
By now you probably know all about our favorite Farmers’ Market Vendors – because we love to brag about them, but we are super excited to announce that next week we will be featuring two food demos! One of which is CitySprouts – a local program which partners with public schools to teach youth about environmental stewardship and provides them with the experience of growing and eating fresh food.
We believe in the idea of fresh, local and wholesome food – so we couldn’t be happier to invite CitySprouts and the King Open School of Cambridge to join us here in Kendall Square to show off their gardening and cooking skills. Those who visit the Farmers’ Market Thursday will get to sample their tasty creations
The summer program allows teens – ages 11 to15 years old – to grow and care for gardens, and learn how to prepare farm-fresh food with the ingredients they’ve grown. We’re excited to introduce CitySprouts to the Kendall Square Farmers’ Market so they can see firsthand how farmers sell their own produce, and how those who live and work in the area line up for fresh ingredients.
To learn more about CitySprouts, be sure to stop by the community tent at the Farmers’ Market on Thursday, August 8th – or visit their website at http://citysprouts.org/.
