CHAF 2014 Open Doors for the Homeless is November 13, 2014
Just last month, the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless reported that approximately 4,600 families and pregnant women were being housed in the state's emergency shelter program. Enter the Cambridge Housing Fund (CHAF) and it's partner agencies helping individuals with the one time costs that can mean the difference between stable housing and life in a shelter or on the streets.
Thursday, November 13, 2014
5:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Regattabar at the The Charles Hotel
One Bennett Street, Cambridge, MA
Join your Cambridge neighbors for music, networking, heavy hor d'oeuvres, inspiring guest speakers, a silent auction, and working together to prevent and end homelessness.
The funds raised by the organization pay for expenses related to rental housing startup costs such as first and last month's rent rent, security deposit, and rental fees. The average amount of CHAF assistance a client receives is $730. With the average cost of housing a homeless family in emergency shelter at around $30,000, the CHAF funds along with the services of agency partners save the state valuable taxpayer dollars and saves families from the crisis of homelessness.
